Bob Is a Unicorn

Aren't these little guys so cute?  They are sculpted out of clay.  These are the characters in Miss Michelle's newest book Bob Is a Unicorn.

Michelle Nelson-Schmidt is the author of our favorite how-to book, Pop Pooch Portraits to Paint, and the beloved Jonathan James and the Whatif Monster.

I sculpted some of my favorite characters out of clay too--they are in my pencil holder on my desk.  I like to play with them to act out the book they're in.  It's fun.  I think you should try it too!  What do you think?

Doreen Cronin

One of my favorite authors is Doreen Cronin.  She wrote many wonderful children's books like Diary of a Spider, Diary of a Worm, Diary of a Fly, Click, Clack, Moo Cows That Type, and Giggle, Giggle, Quack.

Book Challenge:  Citizenship Rainbow

Welcome to your first book challenge!  This one will challenge you to read a citizenship rainbow.  Here are ten books that go along with the citizenship theme.  To meet the challenge you must read three citizenship books and they each must have a different color.  Here are ten suggested books, but you can read other citizenship books too:

Red:  Being a Good Citizen:  A Book About Citizenship (Way to Be!) by Mary Small

Orange:  Writing the U.S. Constitution (Our American Story) by Lori Mortensen

Orange:  Emma's Poem:  The Voice of the Statue of Liberty by Linda Glaser
